Default Firestone - Deer Park, Tx - bad experience

First off, not my car, not my money. This was a co-worker's experience

A co-worker recently bought a used low mile 02 Vette from Dallas area
After driving it home to Houston, he noticed a tic, and a little stumble at idle. He asked about a few things that it could be, and I suggested a few ideas and some simple things that he can do himself. Clean the MAF with some contact cleaner, check the spark plug wires, and look for an soot around the manifolds for exhaust leaks. He took it by Autozone and had the codes pulled, and found that #5 cylinder has a misfire

. . . so he ended up dropping it off at the Firestone shop that was close to him. He showed them the ticket from Autozone, and they still ran their own diagnostic …$95 dollar charge.

They replaced all of the plugs, plug wires, and a single coil pack. . . . $600 dollars later. . . . you guessed it, . . . the tick and stumble and miss are still there.

Went back a second time for a compression check after they cleared the codes and said that everything was good to go. . . . #5 cylinder has 90lbs.

I have yet to see the car, but it sounds to me as if it’s a bad lifter, or at the worst a busted ring land, and that means a bad piston. . . . we’ll see after this weekend what it really is.

So long story short, they just started replacing a bunch of parts to see if it would fix itself.

FIrestone is good at doing that. I seen them replace a light bulb in a VW Beetle for 300$

Maybe he can get a whole refound because it's only a tire shop , check if there ASE certified if not I would ask for all the money back and if they don't want to take it to small claims court. But if they are ASE there he took a loss
