i wanted to now what mods need to be done to do a swap on 95 silverado from 5.7 tbi to 97 5.7 vortec

i think its the wiring and the vortec gives out more power and theres more mods u can do to it.. its also easier to find performance parts for those

i work at a mechanic shop but i mostly be googleing to see how difficult it is to do swaps we mostly work on hondas and acuras we do some performance

Well if u do either one ur gonna have to change ur harness and ecu bcuz the vortec has more electronic things compared to the tbi

just go carb with the same engine u already have theres alot of performance parts available and there cheaper$$

its too much hassle to go from tbi to vortec. all the electronic wiring is different inside the cab, the engine harness is also different, and the external wiring harness is also different. plus none of it will bolt up and be good to go. u have to change out ALOT. u might as well go carb and drop all the electronic stuff

its a bunch of stuff computer, harness, vortec engine, etc..... Your best bet is swap it out with a 6.0 or any lsx gen 3 or better.

OR CARB like mention above, one other option is do the TPI and i want to say you can still use the same engine and they even make a tune port injection for vortec heads as well. carb will be the cheapest.

I have the newer stile vortec 350 in my truck. But I maid it carb. It runs real good. Have not maid it out to baytown but @ the 1/8 my best is a 8.2 spinning the tires.
