fuel problem

well just bought 01 gmc with 5.3L only 40k miles was parked alot it was a show truck i think its fuel pump but i go to crank it and every time it wont crank first time you turn it of and it turns right over what you guys think or should i try running some cleaner through it cause once i get it started it runs fine even at wot

So it doesn't crank when u go and crank it or it cranks and won't start??????????????????????????

sounds like you have a hard time cranking it then when you do get it started and warmed up it runs fine? if this is the case, i would change the filter since it sat up along time and maybe pull the injhectors and clean them, also did you dump the gas? maybe wanna put some gas treatment in it and see if that helps ?

so how many times are you cranking it over before it actually starts, put some fresh gads in it

no when i first get in the truck the first time i turn the truck over i can turn it over for ten minutes and nothing but let off the key and turn it over again and it cranks in like two seconds and runs fine

Check regulated on the intake they tend to leak and will cause hard to start problems if that's ok it could be keaking fuel pump cause if it runs good once u start it gas is good
