i have a bnm racing tranny cooler fittings n hoses n cooler run u around 100 something
i think its ur stall thats messing up u need to check ur pinion angle that may be the problem get a good circle d stall triple disk it should help and about the pinion problem go to street side and take the tranny to juan he will take care of it
shit it sound like something my truck is doing right now it clicks wen its on idle but ones i start reving it up to 3000 rpms it starts to grind real bad .........i have a 3000 pi stalll but i punch it and drive it to work every day its running good any one have an idea
why don't you look into getting a 4l80e? it'll be a bit slower but will handle more power even stock.
well i just got word on my truck...and before i say anything im not talking down on anyones work or blaming anyone i just need this problem fixed and some helpful opinions......what the tranny guy is saying is that whoever did my engine swap installed the torque converter incorrectly causing the "shaft" to break...they showed me the torque converter and the center part is bent and the bearing that goes around it has all the teeth broken in pieces..so i was told i need a different tranny altogether and they wanna charge me $850....so i went to the guy that did my swap and he is telling me that if the torque converter would have been installed incorrectly my transmission would have failed right away, not 3-4 months afterwards...like i said i never experienced any problems with the tranny (even after the engine swap) until the same day it broke...has anyone heard of this happening? all i can say is that my transmission failed the exact same way as before the rebuild and all im being told is that the warranty doesnt cover whatver caused it to fail...was there an underlying issue since the first time and wasnt caught??? or did the mechanic install the torque converter incorrectly??? like i said i dont want to turn this into an argument or putting the blame on anybody i just want to see what you guys think...ill try to post up pics of the broken parts in a bit
what converter do you have? I had an issue similar to this where they tried to blame the installation of the converter which I knew was done properly. It ended up being the converter/pilot being out of spec and requiring shims. The converter I had installed was supposed to not require shimming.
it was a "trailblazer" converter...the one from the I-6.....
Yep! Same thing that happened with mine. I had the Circle D I6 converter though. It knocked out the front pump gear and that was it. No forward gears or anything. Was it vibrating when you drove
Well who built ur tranny? And how much did u pay for your build? A 4L80 will be nice but......it has a long 1st gear. I have 2 6.0 trucks LQ9 both of them. One has a 60 the other is a 80. Let's just say the 80 pisses me off that I up and down shift it.
i got my tranny rebuild 2 weeks ago with juan added a shiftkit and servo but idk if its my torque converter that wont let me take off good from a stop it wont even burnout sitting their...do yall think i need a bigger tranny cooler? or i might need a tune juan said i might need a tune so idk
well i talked to the tranny guys and they ruled out the swap being the cause......but im still without my truck and no one is telling me what the fuck im being charged 850 for
them thats mess up bro gl on the out come..
i think that's wat happen to mine right now when ever i did the swap it started makin noise like if my fly wheel was loose or my converter
mine transmission got messed up too it wouldnt get 1st gear i had to downshift to get it rolling but i changed it and got a 97 trans. lol
look familiar??
