383 stroker for a 5.3

so i have a 5.3 in my garage nothing wrong with it, has about 70k on it and have been trying to get questions answered how difficult and expensive is it to make it a 383 what all does it consist of i have seen kits and all from "eagle" fro arounf 2000$ bucks i just want to know what all do i have to actually do to the block n what all needs to be changed or anyhting ... thanks hpt

well all the boring and honing to make it a 383 stroker .....and then you need a good intake , carb , head's , ignition system good trans , stall, .......but i think it's cheaper to go with a 5.3 cause you can alway's up grade later and also you get all that drivability on fuel injection.......cause i used to be carburated but not no more.....but that's me...

na its cool wei and so on the long run the fully built 5.3 will be better so what all u think i would need as far as a na motor say for example a good engine that can be reliable would i have to exchange a all the insides aswell or talk about just heads cam intake tb what all else ?

If you wanna make a 383
Like Edgar says honing n boring the 5.3
Getting the rotating assembly n having it put on and balance at a mahine shop.
That would be your built short block.
Then a good set of heads and intake to help it out even more.

You won't have to change...its better if you get a 6.0 block and build a 408 or 414 out of it...you are gonna spend the same amount on either on...the 6.0 bored will give more power though..

Or you can do a iron block ls1...just bore and swap pistons all the other parts will bolt on, it'll just need to be rebalanced with the new pistons

youre going to spend at least 5k for a complete longblock. u still need a good intake unless ur planning on running the crappy pre-07 truck intake on a stroker (fail), fuel rails, injectors, tuning, tranny upgrade, gears
