    Default how to get into oil field job plants/refineries?


    I heard Houston oil and gas companies have lots work and booming... my friend looking for job but has no idea were to start(so why not ask HPT members,some work in oil and gas) im also curious because i asked some guys that work oil field they always respond with its hard to get in or need to have that and this blah blah. What are some advise were to start and were to look.entry level positions.

    i heard get a twic card and get certified as many safety osha stuff...

    any tips would be awesome for anybody needing information about oild and field.

    There alot of diffrent positions in the field me personally im a process operator and i went to school started at a small plant now i work at enterprise products

    You gotta get your twic card for those types of jobs I'm a diesel mechanic for Martin transport and I never thought of getting it till they told me some plants or refineries won't let you in to work on the company rigs or trailers if a problem occurs so if you don't have it so if you don't have it you can't get in to do what you gotta do

    Sign up for alerts for job openings at the plants you want to work. Positions fill fast and hundreds of people apply. Get your twic card, take some industrial courses in the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open for testing dates. Search indeed.com, oilcareers.com, etc.

    Brand, Brock, turner, Austin etc I went to brand didn't known anyone and they were going to hire me but the same week I got a better offer with a different company and I'm going to start school for process tech in August
